What I have learned at school contributes to the diversified life history enriched by insightful teachings. Elkins High School has transformed me in very many ways personally, academically, and socially. My hallmark is developing a sense of community. I get excited with the attention other students give me, which binds us strongly since we are in the same courses. There are different clubs, such as academic ones, where new sports can be learned. Good teachers help us grasp concepts and enable us to yield great results, especially in exams. However, challenges were part of it. Among the greater challenges was the completion of difficult courses during college preparation; this led to a high level of stress resulting from tedious study schedules. In spite of the fact that academic overloads can boost the performance of the brain, the most challenging part was that I felt people who listen to psychologists undervalue themselves by avoiding personal issues.

This is my 11th year being a FBISD student. This school district has provided a good amount of resources for its schools. So far they take their fine arts programs well because most, if not all our school excel in fine arts. The new school year, they added recent changes in the district. In which, they’re mandating every student receiving a laptop, more school security, and the reduced amount of time students can have theirs phones. Another thing is, we so many interesting teachers they’re curriculum is similar, but teaching styles may vary. If anything, sometimes it’s hard to reach some teachers expectations. Also, the lunch isn’t terrible, but I would like to know what exactly am I eating and where it came from because sometimes the food looks questionable. Lastly, in the next 10-15 years if I were to put my child in school, I wouldn’t mind putting my kids and the same area I lived for my k-12 education.

While I believe that the Fort Bend District has more pros than cons, one of the most obvious problems with it is the shortage of teachers. This shortage allows teachers who may not be responsible adults and who might lack many of the skills needed to work with kids to still be employed. For example, a teacher at my school got in trouble for having inappropriate content on his work computer. He was suspended but then he came back to finish teaching for the rest of the year because they could not find a replacement. Once the school year ended he wasn't seen back for the following years, but he should not have been allowed to come back initially.
On the contrary the best thing about FBISD is the diversity. It creates a better learning environment because of the exposure to a range of perspectives, cultures, ideas, and more. It challenges kids to think outside what they were taught which enhances critical thinking and readiness for the "real world".
