Fried goat cheese makes for an easy appetizer, a delicious topping to a salad or served on your favorite burger. This recipe can be made into fried goat cheese disks or fried goat cheese balls. Both are equally delicious.
The first time I had fried goat cheese medallions was on a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. So many good flavors together! If you make a couple of extras you can save them and serve them when you make a charcuterie and cheese board. Warm or cold, fried goat cheese is amazing! Try it garnished with a crumble of dried sage leaves.

📝 Notes on the ingredients
- Goat Cheese - I like a medium firm goat cheese log
- Flour - all purpose flour works well for this recipe. Read why the type of flour matters in some recipes in my post of baking definition.
- Panko bread crumbs - I prefer the crunch and texture of panko bread crumbs for this recipe instead of the homemade bread crumbs that I make for other recipes.
- Egg, Beaten
- Everything but the bagel seasoning (optional)
I made it exactly how the recipe is written as this is something I always do and it was perfect as is....no changes were needed. Thank you so much for sharing!!! so yummy

Tips for making fried goat cheese:
Press the panko bread crumbs firmly into the cheese.
Add a teaspoon or two of Everything But The Bagel Seasoning to the bread crumbs for an added layer of flavor.
What type of goat cheese is best for frying?
I use a plain 4-ounce log of goat cheese that I find in the cheese case at my grocery store. Feel free to use a flavored goat cheese such as honey goat cheese or goat cheese with herbs.
If you are making a double or triple batch, get the larger goat cheese log. I like the log because it can easily be scooped out if I am making balls or simply sliced with dental floss to make the goat cheese disks.
What is an easy way to slice goat cheese?
An easy tip for slicing goat cheese: Use unscented dental floss. (A tip from Judy)
