VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (2024)

Back when I first started reviewing skincare products, there were not a lot of good affordable options. You had your more expensive products from places like Sephora or Dermstore and you had drugstore skincare. Thankfully, we have come a long way from apricot scrubs and cold cream. Now we have brands like Versed that bridge the gap.

Skincare that is affordable is great, but only if the products actually work. So I decided to put Versed to the test. In this review, I will be sharing each product I’ve tried, I’ll share a bit about the ingredients and the claims, and I will tell you about my experience using the product.

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (1)

Day Maker Microcrystal Skin Exfoliator

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (2)

Day Maker Microcrystal Skin Exfoliator is a creamy cleanser formulated to enhance skin texture and tone. It features superfine microcrystalline, a 100% plant-based, biodegradable exfoliant, providing an alternative to traditional microbeads. The exfoliator is infused with black currant and raspberry leaf extracts, known for their antioxidant properties, which help regulate oil production and reduce inflammation. Suitable for breakout-prone and sensitive skin, as well as all skin types looking for a smoother and brighter complexion, this exfoliator aims to deliver refined pores and a smoother skin texture.

My skin leans towards the dehydrated side, which can be a real challenge when it comes to exfoliation. Dry patches and flakiness are constant issues for me, but finding an exfoliator that addresses them without stripping my skin’s natural oils has been an ongoing struggle. Many scrubs leave me feeling tight and uncomfortable, while others leave behind a greasy residue.

The Versed Day Maker Microcrystal Skin Exfoliator finally offered a solution that ticked all the boxes. The microcrystals are gentle enough for my sensitive skin, yet effective at buffing away dry flakes. Unlike other scrubs, this one leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, without any uncomfortable tightness or lingering oiliness. It finally delivers the exfoliation I need without compromising my skin’s delicate moisture balance.

Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (3)

Versed Day Dissolve Balm is a gentle cleansing balm that effectively removes makeup and impurities while keeping your skin moisturized. Infused with vitamin E, this balm is designed to melt away even the toughest of makeup without stripping your skin of its natural oils. The natural blend of eucalyptus and clove leaf oil gives this balm a light, spa-like scent that is refreshing and invigorating. As you massage the balm into your skin with wet fingertips, it softens into a gentle milk that rinses away easily, leaving your skin feeling clean, soft, and refreshed.

I am not a big cleansing balm person, I much rather use a cleansing oil. However, I do reach for cleansing balms when I have covered myself in lipstick or eyeliner swatches. This worked fine for removing most of the swatches but struggled to remove long wearing formulas.

Baby Cheeks Hydrating Milk Toner

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (4)

Versed Baby Cheeks is a hydrating toner that restores your skin’s natural pH balance and removes post-cleanse hard water residue, leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed. This gentle formula is designed with sensitive skin in mind and is enriched with humectants that draw in moisture, as well as nourishing amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. This toner has a milky texture that’s infused with algae extract, bamboo extract, and coconut water to leave your skin feeling silky smooth and residue-free.

I love a good milky toner. They are great for hydrating the skin without leaving a thick heavy feeling. Plus, a good milky toner will layer well with itself and with a moisturizer. When I use this toner, I apply multiple layers to the skin. I spread it all over my face, let it sink in, then apply another layer. I repeat until my skin won’t drink up any more product.

If you are wanting to add a milky toner to your routine, this is a great option.

Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (5)

Versed Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream is a lightweight, gel-cream formula quickly absorbs into the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and non-greasy. Packed with powerful ingredients like sodium hyaluronate and aloe leaf juice, this moisturizer hydrates the skin from the inside out, helping to retain moisture and improve its overall texture. The addition of green tea leaf extract is a nice touch, as it soothes the skin, reduces inflammation, and helps fight against damaging free radicals.

This is a very light moisturizer. On my combination skin, it does not provide enough hydration. That isn’t to say this moisturizer is bad, but it is not meant for my skin type.

Overall, I would recommend this moisturizer to those with oily skin or those that don’t like the feeling of moisturizer.

Skin Soak Rich Moisture Cream

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (6)

Versed Skin Soak is a rich and luxurious moisturizing cream that deeply hydrates and nourishes the skin. Formulated with restorative ingredients like vitamin E, algae extract, and squalane, this cream helps to replenish lost moisture while also combating the signs of aging. Its smooth and velvety texture provides a luxurious feel on the skin, and it absorbs easily without leaving any greasy residue. This makes it an ideal moisturizer for all skin types, including oilier skin types that can use it as a night cream or as a heavier moisturizer during the winter months.

When they say rich moisture cream, they really mean it. I tried wearing this during the day but found that it just melted off my face in the summer heat. There was no way I could use this with SPF and makeup. However, it was perfect for giving me the glazed donut finish that I like for nighttime. I could see myself reaching for this moisturizer during the late winter when my skin is drier.

If you have dry skin, this is the moisturizer to pick from Versed.

Zero-G Smoothing Eye Cream

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (7)

The Versed Zero G Smoothing Eye Cream formula includes line-smoothing algae extract, firming peptides, and deeply moisturizing olive oil to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the delicate eye area. The cream has a buttery texture that glides on smoothly, leaving a soft-focus finish and an illuminating effect due to the ethically sourced mica.

I don’t really like this cream. First, I would not call it a cream. The texture is very light and jelly-like. It applies nicely to the under eyes and workers well with other products. However, it is not very hydrating and does little to help illuminate the eye. This product is a pass for me.

Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (8)

The Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen SPF 35 is the ultimate daily protection for your skin. With non-nano zinc oxide as the active ingredient, this mineral sunscreen physically blocks both UVA and UVB rays from penetrating your skin. Its formula also contains antioxidants that help to fight off environmental and blue light damage, providing three-way protection against premature aging. The peachy hue helps to neutralize the white cast commonly associated with mineral SPF, and blends seamlessly into a natural, skin-like finish.

I love trying new SPFs because I am always on the hunt for the best formula. Unfortunately, this does not make my list of best sunscreens. When testing, I found this SPF to be thicker and heavier than I prefer. It is hard to spread and takes a while to work into the skin.

The only time I reach for this is when I am not going to be wearing makeup. I brought it with me to the coast and I will be packing it with me on my trip to Washington later this fall. That being said, I would not repurchase this SPF.

You may like this if you are a mineral sunscreen loyalist with dry skin. Otherwise, I would skip it.

Versed Bodycare Review

Buff It Out AHA Exfoliating Body Scrub

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (9)

The Versed Buff It Out Exfoliating Body Scrub is the ultimate solution for achieving a smooth and bright complexion. Infused with lactic and glycolic acid, this creamy body exfoliator effectively targets hyperpigmentation, bumps, and dry patches. Uniform, microfine pumice ensures a gentle yet effective exfoliation, while pomegranate enzymes boost cell renewal, leaving your skin looking fresh and bright. This body scrub is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and helps banish body breakouts, chicken skin, strawberry legs, and uneven texture.

I have been a diehard fan of the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser since it launched. But when I saw that Versed offered a similar product, I immediately added it to my cart. The Versed Body Scrub is just as effective as the First Aid Beauty and it costs a little bit less. Since I go through so much of this type of scrub, it just makes sense to buy the Versed.

Press Restart Gentle Retinol Body Lotion

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (10)

The Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Body Lotion Unscented is formulated with pure retinol, hydrating squalane, and enriching cocoa butter. This body lotion offers more than just hydration. It aims to enhance skin firmness, improve texture, boost brightness, and address body blemishes along with their subsequent dark spots. The encapsulated retinol works gently to rejuvenate the skin, complemented by ingredients that lock in moisture to combat dryness. This non-greasy formula can be massaged into dry skin areas, aiding in reducing the appearance of skin crepiness on the chest, firming the skin around the knees, and smoothing rough elbows.

I know that retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient. It is the best way to treat fine lines and wrinkles on the face. If it is so good at reducing the signs of aging on the face, then it makes sense to also use retinol on the body.

A few years ago you couldn’t find many options for a retinol body lotion. Now there are options at every price point. I like this one from Versed because it is affordable, comes in an aesthetically pleasing package, and is unscented.

Total Package Replenishing Body Lotion SPF30

VERSED Skincare Review: Here Are My Honest Thoughts (11)

Total Package Replenishing Body Lotion SPF30 is a multifunctional body lotion that skillfully blends hydration with broad-spectrum sun protection. Its lightweight formula features cupuaçu butter, known for being twice as hydrating as shea butter, and grapeseed oil, a source of soothing antioxidants. This combination replenishes moisture effectively without leaving a heavy or greasy feel. The lotion includes a sheer, non-sticky mineral SPF, derived from non-nano zinc oxide, which provides defense against UVA, UVB, and blue light rays.

I really appreciate the unscented formula of this sunscreen, especially since it’s perfect for sensitive skin. What’s impressive is how it feels more like a luxurious body lotion than your typical SPF, thanks to its soothing ingredients. I didn’t find it heavy or greasy, and it absorbs pretty quickly, unlike some other sunscreens that can take ages to rub in. Just a note, occasionally the bottle may become clogged. Just remove the lid and clear out the dispenser.

It is worth nothing that this is an SPF 30. While SPF 30 is suitable for daily use, I personally prefer a stronger level of protection when I am spending a lot of time outside.
